LIV Golf Andalucía: Talor Gooch Clinches Individual Title; Legion XIII Dominates Team Standings

SAN ROQUE, Spain – On a splendid Sunday during LIV Golf Andalucía, Smash GC’s Talor Gooch narrowly maintained his lead after 36 holes, claiming his fourth individual LIV Golf title and his first since 2023. Gooch, who previously won the league’s Individual Championship in 2023, now boasts two victories out of the three events held at Valderrama on LIV Golf.

The 33-year-old followed his impressive Saturday score of 5-under 66 with a steady 1-under 70, successfully fending off a strong challenge led by Legion XIII Captain Jon Rahm. Rahm achieved a remarkable 6-under 65, tying him with Ripper GC’s Matt Jones for the lowest round of the day.

However, it was Rahm who had cause for celebration as his Legion XIII team shot a combined 5 under for the week, securing the team title just ahead of Fireballs GC, who finished at 3 under. At one point, Rahm pulled even with Gooch at 7 under while Rahm had one hole left and Gooch had two, including the par-5 17th. Gooch successfully made a birdie, thanks to an excellent lag putt from off the green, while Rahm found trouble, driving it left into the trees on the 18th. After a punch-out and a wedge shot that set him up just under 20 feet from the hole, Rahm saved momentum with a crucial putt on the final hole, celebrating with a huge fist pump to keep his individual title hopes alive. Nevertheless, Gooch displayed brilliance on the 18th, leaving himself with only a tap-in for par and victory 80jili.cc.

Legion XIII was powered by outstanding performances from Rahm and Tom McKibbin, who shot a 5-under 66. Caleb Surratt came through for Rahm, posting birdies on five of his last nine holes after a rocky start, finishing with a commendable 1-under 70. His teammate, Tyrrell Hatton, shot an even-par 70, contributing to their success.

This victory marks the third of the season for Legion XIII, with all wins occurring outside the United States, including Riyadh and Mexico City. For the Fireballs, Abraham Ancer achieved third place, shooting a 5-under 66, marking his best finish since LIV Golf Adelaide, where he tied for second.

In a disappointing turn for 4Aces GC, they again failed to convert a 36-hole lead into a victory, marking three consecutive tournaments without success since 2023. The 4Aces finished tied for third with Smash GC, who were led by Jason Kokrak’s 2-under 69. Stinger GC’s Branden Grace also shot a 2-under 69, ending up tied for fourth, a significant result that improved his standing from 49th to 34th in individual rankings, securing him a comfortable position well above the Drop Zone.

The third round was the easiest of the week, averaging –0.58, in contrast to +0.57 in Round 2 and +2. phjl casino46 in Round 1.
